The 3D Printer actually prints!
So now it also seems to work?
Not so fast.
This piece of progress is actually not that big in comparison to the previous article.
This is because for the 3D printer firmware I used Marlin, and most of what I had to do was to reassembly the motors and put together some old 3D printer stuff I already had from an old project (a cheap 30 EUR kit from AliExpress).
I manged to get a couple of rough prints done, but as you can see, the setup itself is not professional by no means.
The first clear problem was the printing bed misalignment.
Of course, from the setup in the picture it cannot be aligned, but even in a more fixed setup, it is always a good thing to account for possible aligning failures, even if small ones, as the precision in this topic is of great importance for the first printed layer.
The usual way of coping with this, is to mount what is called a z-probe.
This, in its basic form, is a switch, that can retract during print,
that is used to probe the bed moving the
With this I was able to get some first prints, even if the work to be done is still considerable.
